[ELA] Employment Law Alliance Webinar 2026

Shearn Delamore & Co. is pleased to share that our Associate, Jia Xin Chia, from our Employment & Industrial Relations practice group, participated as a speaker in the Employment Law Alliance (ELA) webinar recently titled “China Layoff Series – Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia & Chinese Mainland.”/“ 跨境用工裁员避险指南，东南亚四地顶尖律师用工合规实战分享”.

Conducted in Mandarin, the session brought together employment law practitioners across the respective jurisdictions to discuss different jurisdictional approaches when dealing with employment termination. The discussion focused on the various methods of termination, associated costs and key corresponding practical considerations.

Jia Xin Chia spoke alongside panelists, namely, George Lu (Chinese Mainland), Stephanie Yip (Hong Kong) and Wei Jie Ho (Singapore), in the discussion moderated by Tara Tang of Shanghai Lanbai Law Firm.

The session attracted strong engagement from participants, with the scheduled 10-minute Q&A segment extended by additional 30 minutes. During the session, Jia Xin addressed several queries on Malaysian employment law, including practical issues such as managing underperforming employees and handling prolonged medical leave.
